How Much Are Ontario Doctors Paid?

How Much Are Ontario Doctors Paid?

There are concerns being raised about a new deal for Ontario’s doctors that was recently announced by the Minister of Health, Eric Hoskins. It has raise a number of issues about how doctors are paid and even whether or not we have too many doctors. The deal, which is being imposed on doctors following the collapse of talks between the province and the Ontario Medical Association, reduces payments to doctors by a total of $580 million over two years. Included in these cuts are reductions in weekend coverage payments and a 2.65 per cent reduction in fees for all medical services.
